General Description:-
This is a municipal site directly on the seafront to the south of São Martinho do Porto and seems to be split into three sections. The first contains mobile homes, many of which seem to be permanently occupied. The second is a tent city, but not a tent city like many on campsites in Portugal and Spain as in this one contains many large and complex tents covering the whole pitch but with just one or two exceptions they are smart and well kept. Even here there are a few full timers. The third and last section is the caravan/camping section and even here there is one or two full timers. The pitches are flat and of a good size
Toilets and Showers:-
The facilities are a little tired but are kept spotlessly clean. You must provide your own paper soap and hand towels, in audition hot showers are by a €1.00 token, this does though, give ample time for a proper shower.
Laundrette:-
There is a laundrette on site but we nipped down to the local “Intermarche” supermarket and used their 18kg machine (virtually all “Intermarche” supermarket in Portugal have a Laundrette) as its generally cheaper than campsites and the machines are industrial not domestic.
Restaurant:-
There is no restaurant on site but with so many along the seafront this is not a problem
Conclusions:-
This is a good site that can be recommended although in the summer I would imagine it’s a little like camping in Romford market.
Price:-
This is a municipal site and does not give ACSI or any other discounts, the price per night we paid was €16.10 per night plus €1.00 per shower giving a very reasonable total of €18.10 per night for our eleven night stay..
